Founded in 1970, Vollmer-Gray Engineering Laboratories is one of Southern California’s most dynamic and respected privately-owned firm specializing in engineering consulting and expert witness services. The practice was started in a small building in Torrance, CA by Reuben Vollmer in 1970. Initial practice was in the area of failure analysis, test and design evaluation, stress analysis and accident reconstruction. Our new building located in Signal Hill, California features 10,000 square feet of office, state of art laboratory, testing, shop and evidence (including vehicle) storage space.

Over the years, our practice areas and capabilities have widened. Currently we can assist our clients in the areas of automotive, aircraft, industrial, construction, marine, agricultural, commercial, and residential accidents as well as losses from fire, water, corrosion and chemical damage. Vollmer-Gray employs a staff of highly qualified and experienced engineers with backgrounds in mechanical, biomechanical, metallurgical, materials science, electrical and polymer engineering. Though over the years, we have added new areas, capabilities and technical expertise, our core values (integrity, confidentiality, quick responsiveness, team work, innovative, due diligence, and exemplary service in a timely and economical manner) remained the same.
